Academic calendar

The academic calendar brings together every date in the academic year: the start and end of teaching, examinations, public holidays and academic events. It is updated whenever new dates are issued.

How the year is organised

The academic year has two semesters under the Bologna Process, each followed by its final examinations. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research sets the general framework for Iraqi universities, and the university fixes its detailed dates within it.

Notes

  • Unscheduled public holidays follow the decisions of the competent government authorities.
  • Class and examination timetables for each department are under “Timetables & exam schedules” in the Downloads centre.
