- Morning & evening
Overview
The Department of Medical Physics studies the physics behind diagnosis and treatment: X-ray and CT imaging, magnetic resonance, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and medical measurement devices.
The programme combines a firm grounding in physics and mathematics with anatomy and physiology, medical electronics, radiation physics, radiation protection and medical image processing.
Students learn how equipment works, how its quality is assured and how radiation doses are measured, in the department’s laboratories and in hospitals and radiology centres during summer training, preparing them to work within the medical team.
Vision
To produce medical physics graduates who combine scientific precision with responsibility towards patients, contributing to safe diagnosis and radiotherapy.
Mission
To prepare graduates well versed in physics and its applications in medical imaging, radiotherapy and medical devices, committed to radiation protection, quality assurance and medical ethics.
