Library Systems Unit
Overview
The Library Systems Unit runs and develops the library's electronic systems, from the library management system and online catalogue to the digital library and databases. It works to make the library's services available electronically to users on and off campus.
Responsibilities
- Running the integrated library management system and maintaining and backing up its database.
- Making the online catalogue available to users through the university website.
- Building the university's digital repository and digitising graduation projects and staff research output.
- Managing subscriptions to databases and electronic resources and organising access to them.
- Setting up the library's computers and equipment and coordinating their maintenance with the Computer Centre.
- Training library staff in the use of the automated systems.
