Night Security Unit
Overview
The Night Security Unit protects the university's buildings, facilities and property outside official working hours, through regular duty rotas and continuous patrols. It alerts the competent authorities immediately to any emergency.
Responsibilities
- Organising night and holiday duty rotas and assigning guards to their posts.
- Carrying out regular patrols of buildings, facilities and perimeter walls.
- Checking that doors are locked and non-essential equipment is switched off after hours.
- Preventing unauthorised entry to the campus outside working hours.
- Recording observations and incidents in the duty log and reporting them to the University Follow-up Division.
- Handling emergencies such as fires and breakdowns in the first instance and alerting the competent authorities.
